App Center Approval Guidelines
To ensure the best experience for our users, all apps must meet the following quality standards in order to be approved.
App-like Experience
Your application should provide a native app experience with intuitive navigation, responsive design, and functionality that goes beyond a simple website. Users should feel like they're using a dedicated application, not browsing a website.
- Provide a native app-like experience with a consistent look and feel
- Implement smooth navigation and transitions between pages
- Avoid stuffing your app with unnecessary text and keywords, traditional SEO is not effective inside the app and it degrades the user experience
- Same as above, avoid creating marketing landing pages inside the app
Functional & Complete
Your app must be complete (no missing features, broken links, or other issues) and work as expected. We will not approve apps that are not fully functional or have significant usability issues. Make sure to test your app thoroughly throughout its development process.
- Ensure your app is fully functional and works as expected and advertised
- If your app is still in development or incomplete, it won't be approved until it is fully functional
- Test your app thoroughly throughout its development process
Meaningful Purpose
Your app must solve real problems, enhance productivity, or provide genuine entertainment value to users in the Puter ecosystem. Applications should offer substantial utility and contribute meaningfully to the user experience.
Original Work & Licensing
Your app must be your original work or properly licensed. If using open-source components, provide appropriate attribution and ensure compliance with their licenses. Apps that infringe on copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property will be rejected.
- Open-source apps are welcome but make sure you are not infringing on any licenses
- Publishing somebody else's website as an app (via hotlinking) is no longer allowed
Icon Guidelines
Include a unique, professionally designed icon that clearly represents your app's purpose and stands out in the App Center. The icon should be high-resolution, visually appealing, and instantly recognizable.
- Image file should be 512x512 pixels
- Icons should be square with rounded corners and minimal padding between the icon and edge of the image
- The image file should have transparent background, whereas the background of the icon itself should contain no transparent pixels
- Avoid using text in the icons unless it's absolutely necessary. Do not include app name or call-to-action text in the icon, unless it's essential for the app's purpose

Category
When publishing your app, make sure to select the most relevant category. If your app is not in the correct category it won't be approved.
Description
Your app description should clearly communicate what your app does and why users should try it. A well-written description helps users understand your app's value at a glance.
- Write a clear description that accurately represents your app's functionality
- Aim for a few paragraphs rather than just a sentence or two — detailed descriptions help users make informed decisions
- Avoid excessive use of keywords, marketing buzzwords, or misleading claims
- Do not include contact information, URLs, or promotional content in the description
- Keep the description professional and free of spelling or grammatical errors
